TERM
“The GLENLIVET - The Perfect Shot™” Photography Contest ("Contest") begins 03 October 2009 and ends on 30th Nov 2009. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these official rules ("Official Rules"). By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to the Official Rules and warrants that their entry complies with all requirements set out in the Official Rules. This is a skill based contest and chance plays no part in the determination of winners.

Contest is open to anyone residing in Singapore aged 18 and above, as of 01st September 2009.

- The Official Entry Form must be duly completed and processed together with the payment of the entrance fee.
- The entrance fee will be collected and a goodie bag, containing the theme of the competition, would be given away.
- A serial number, officially assigned by the Organiser, will be issued upon payment of the registration fee. Entries submitted without an indication of the serial number on the Official Entry Form would be deemed void and disqualified.
- Each entry must comply with the following requirements (the "Photograph Requirements"):
- An image that combines the elements of more than one photograph or has elements removed is not eligible.
- No digital alternation, amendment, editing, and modification of any part of the image is allowed. However, cropping of the image is allowed.
- The photo, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the Contest entrant. By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the entrant, that the photograph does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph.
- The photographs must not in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Sponsor, contain obscene, provocative, sexually explicit or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate.
- The entries in the Contest will be judged in accordance with the Judging Criteria, as defined below.
- Any entrant whose photograph does not meeting the Photograph Requirements may be disqualified in the sole discretion of the Sponsor.
THEME OF COMPETITION
“The Perfect Shot” is the Official Theme for the photo competition. Participants can freely interpret and express their perception of what a “Perfect Shot” is. It can be taken anywhere, against any settings as long as a representation of The Glenlivet (bottle or otherwise) can be seen. It can be shown in any form or representation accordingly to your creativity.
However, pay special attention to the following as they would render an entry void and disqualified:
- Do not submit images that associate drinking with driving.
- Do not submit images that associate with sleaze, sex or explicit representations.
- Do not submit images that associate the under-aged with liquors.
RELEASES
- If the photograph contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties and/or if any persons appear in the photograph, the entrant is responsible for obtaining any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the publication and use of the photograph in a manner set forth in the Official Rules without any additional compensation. No person(s) under the age of 18, as of 1st September 2009, should appear in any photograph submitted for this Contest.
- If feasible, each entrant should be prepared to provide a signed written personal release from all persons who appear in the photograph submitted, and/or from the copyright owner of any sculpture, artwork or other copyrighted material that appears in the photograph entry, authorizing use of the photograph in Sponsor’s and its’ licenses ("Authorizing Parties") editorial publications, marketing and promotions in any and all media.
CONTEST PRIZES
More than S$25,000 worth of prizes would be awarded in “The Glenlivet – The Perfect ShotTM” Photography Contest 2009. This includes:
- “The Glenlivet – The Perfect ShotTM” Photography Supremo (Grand Winner) will walk away with S$12,000 cash, a challenge trophy, S$2000 training voucher at Avantus Training, an all-expenses paid day trip to Bintan, and 1 year supply of The Glenlivet (12 bottles) at NTUC Club;
- 4 merit prizes of S$1,000 cash, S$500 training voucher at Avantus Training, an all-expenses paid trip to Bintan and S$100 drinks voucher (from NTUC Club) each;
- 2 special awards – S$1000 cash +S$100 drinks voucher (from NTUC Club) each for the Most Creative Entry & Most Promising Young Talent (for participants aged 25 and below, as of 1st September 2009);
- 35 consolation prizes of S$100 cash + $50 drinks voucher (from NTUC Club) each.
All prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and non-exchangable for cash, credit or benefit-in-kind and are not exclusive of taxes and/or foreign duties (if any) and other related expenses, all of which are the sole responsibility of the winners. The use of vouchers is subjected to the terms and conditions of the respective vendor.
JUDGING
A selection panel (“Judges”), consisting of representatives from the Sponsor and supporters and any
other person selected by both the Sponsor and the Organiser, shall be appointed to judge the entries
for the competition. All eligible entries will be judged based on the following criteria ("Judging
Criteria"):
- (1) Creativity and relevance to theme 50%
- (2) Aesthetic appeal 25%
- (2) Photographic techniques and quality 25%
In the event of a tie, the tied entries will be re-submitted to the Judges for a re-judging between the
tied entries alone. In the event that a tie remains after the re-judging, the entry with the highest score
in the creativity and relevance to theme criteria will be declared the winner.
- Winners will be chosen on or about 07/12/2009 and notified by e-mail and phone by
15/12/2009.
- The judges reserve the right not to make any award or to declare any entry void.
- Decisions of the judges are final and binding. No correspondence pertaining to the decision
of the judges shall be entertained.
- If there is any dispute, the Sponsor and/or the Organiser reserve the rights to interpret the
rules as it deem most appropriate.
LICENSE
Copyright in all images, including winning entries, WILL remain with the photographer.
The entrant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of all images entered. It is the legal responsibility of the entrant, and not the organizers, to ensure that they comply with these ownership and copyright requirements and own the rights to reproduction of their images. Entries that do not fulfil this criteria will be deemed ineligible and disqualified. Where this is discovered after the prize has been awarded, the prize must be returned or refunded by the entrant.
Entrants agree to fully indemnify The Organiser and its Sponsors and employees in respect of all royalties, fees and any other monies owing to any person by reason of the entrant breaching any of the foregoing.
JWP and/or Sponsors reserve the right to free reproduction and exhibition of entered images in all media.
JWP and the Competition Sponsors are not making any claim whatsoever on the copyright of YOUR images. The copyright will, at all times, be respected by JWP and its Sponsors and is retained by the photographer. In the event that JWP or the Sponsors reproduce an image or images, the photographer will be credited accordingly as appropriate.
Grand Award Winner and 4 x Merit Award Winners
Although copyright remains with the photographer, JWP and its Sponsors reserve the right to use the above-mentioned winning entries, and each winner's name, photograph, likeness, and/or voice in any publicity or advertising relating to the Contest or future promotions without compensation or approval.
Other Entries
Should the Organiser or its Sponsors be interested to use any other submitted image or images, the photographer will be contacted and a fee would be discussed for the usage of such image(s).
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By entering this Contest, entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Sponsor and its
partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors,
and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this
Contest or any Contest-related activities, including travel, and the acceptance and use, misuse, or
possession of any prize awarded hereunder.
The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay
in operation or transmission; communications line failure; theft or destruction of or unauthorized
access to Contest entries or entry forms; or alteration of entries or entry forms. The Sponsor is not
responsible for any problems with or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines,
computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail
entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any
Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrants' or any other
persons' computers related to or resulting from participation, uploading or downloading of any
materials related to this Contest.
RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND CONTEST
If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, due to infection by computer virus,
bugs, worms, trojan horses, denial of service attacks, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud,
technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of THE SPONSOR that corrupt or affect the
administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, THE SPONSOR
reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry
process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest. If Sponsor elects to cancel or
terminate the Contest, Sponsor will not retain any rights in the submitted photographs.

Winners' names will be available online at www.theperfectshot.com.sg after 20/12/2009.
DATA PRIVACY
Entrants agree that personal data, especially name and address may be processed, shared and
otherwise used for the purposes and within the context of the Contest and any other purposes
outlined in the Official Rules. The data may also be used by the Sponsor in order to verify the
entrant's identity, postal address and telephone number or to otherwise verify the entrant's eligibility to
participate in the Contest
OFFICIAL RULES
All entrants in “The Glenlivet – The Perfect ShotTM” photography competition shall adhere to the following rules & regulations:
- Entries submitted shall be based on the theme “The Perfect ShotTM”. Every image submitted must include an image of The Glenlivet, featured prominently in the photo.
- Each entrant is allowed to submit a maximum of 4 images for this competition. However, each entrant is eligible to win the maximum of one prize from the Main category, and one prize from the Special category.
- Entrants may submit either colour or monochrome photographs as entries to this Contest.
- All entries must be submitted accordingly to the following requirements:
i. As high-resolution digital image files shot in camera RAW format with a digital camera with at least 6 Megapixels in resolution. The resolution must be at least 3000 pixels on the longer side, submitted in a CD-ROM; AND
ii. As photographic prints that are produced by photographic laboratory process. All such prints must be of minimum S8R (8” x 12”) size and must not be mounted.
- Each entry must be accompanied by a duly completed official entry form, a copy of which can be downloaded from the website at www.theperfectshot.com.sg. The duly completed official entry form shall be pasted on the back of the photographic print for each entry. There shall be no visible markings or other indications at the front of the print that may reveal the entrant’s identity.
- All entries accompanied by the duly completed official entry forms must be placed in sealed envelopes which shall be hand-delivered to any of the following collection centres:

“The Glenlivet – The Perfect Shot” Photography Competition
- The closing date for submission is noon, 15th December 2009.
- A total of 42 winning entries will be selected in one or more selection rounds to be held by Julian W. Photography. All winners and owners of selected notable submissions will be contacted by email and phone, and the results will be announced on “The Glenlivet – The Perfect ShotTM” website at www.theperfectshot.com.sg.
- All winners MUST attend the Grand Finales on 8th January 2010 at Scarlet City in order to claim the prizes. The Sponsor and/or the Organiser reserve the right to forfeit the prizes if the winner is unable to attend.
- The winning entries maybe showcased in the following medium:
i. Exhibition at DXO and other venues;
ii. In The Glenlivet’s collaterals and websites;
iii. On the official website at www.theperfectshot.com.sg;
iv. On the organiser’s website at www.julianw.com;
v. Any other medium or for release to the media where the organiser deems fit.
The organiser reserves the right to also select other notable submissions for such use. Such usage will carry acknowledgement of the entrant.
- The digital files submitted are non-refundable and shall become the property of the Sponsor without the need for payment of any fee or charge whatsoever.
- Except for winning entries and selected notable submissions which will be retained, the Organiser will notify all other entrants of the period within which they may collect their entries. Entries not collected during this period will be disposed of by the Organiser.
- Entries void if the Sponsor determines the photograph to not be an original, or if the entries are illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, altered, counterfeit, produced in error or obtained through fraud or theft.
- The Sponsor reserves the right to verify the validity and originality of any entry and/or entrant (including an entrant's identity and address) and to disqualify any entry that is not in accordance with these Official Rules. Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
- Prizes will be presented to all winners during the Finale on 08th January 2010 at Scarlet City.
- Non-compliance to any of the Rules and Regulations may result in disqualification.
- The Organiser reserves the rights to amend the rules and regulations as and when deemed necessary. Any amendments shall be posted on the official website, www.theperfectshot.com.sg.
